“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
Walt Disney
Funny how a childhood dream can often be sat upon a shelf to collect dust. If only we had the courage to pursue the impossible when we first dream it.
I have always wanted to be a writer. I can remember being very young and making up stories with dolls and trying my best to write them down. From the time I could read, I have had my nose stuck in a book.
Somehow, during the process of growing up, I put that dream on a shelf. It was something that OTHER people could do, not me. No one would want to hear what I had to say, besides how would I even start.
Cue Space Coast Book Lovers convention and a dear author friend Kerry Evelyn who never lets me off the hook easily. It was during that convention that the dream I had once placed on a shelf began to whisper it was time.
Over the course of the past few months I have submersed myself in workshops, craft books, writer groups, and anything else related to the writing world I could. It has been an incredible journey, and it has only just begun.
I have several works in progress, many ideas floating around, and the courage to put words on paper. It is truly one small step at a time, and believing that dreams can in fact come true. I am courageous. Are you?
